JEWELS is the women’s ministry of Jesus House Baltimore. The vision of the Jewels is to uphold, encourage and challenge JHB women in their daily walk as disciples of Jesus Christ and as members of His world church. This ministry is a “place to belong” where women will find Jesus, friendship, healing, truth and opportunity for personal growth and involvement. Membership is open to all adult women at JHB.

Yearly Activities

Koinonia
This is a prayer and fellowship event that takes place in the first quarter of the year.

Mother’s Day Event
At the beginning of the year a decision is made regarding how to honor and celebrate mothers on Mother’s Day.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month
This is usually in October. We set up a table at the back of the sanctuary and display items that people can purchase to support breast cancer awareness. The proceeds go to a cancer research institute. We send a check to the representative at the end of the month towards breast cancer research and cure. In preparation for this, the Jewels coordinator identifies gift items online a month before and sends it to the church accountant for purchase.

Jewel’s Annual Conference
The conference preparation starts very early in the year. A guest speaker is identified in conjunction with the church leadership and the Jewels coordinator. An invitation letter is sent to the speaker and flyers are designed and shared to promote the event.

Jewel’s Sponsored Christmas Breakfast
This activity takes place on Christmas day.
